Low Tide at Scheveningen by Eugène Boudin
$39.00
Two dark fishing boats lie on a wide, flat beach at low tide, with small figures working on the sand between them. Behind, more boats with brown, red and pale yellow sails stand along a strip of green sea. More than half the picture is sky, filled with gray and white clouds against blue, all painted in loose, quick strokes, and the signature and date appear at the lower right.
Eugène Boudin (1824–1898), the French painter, made this oil on canvas in 1875. It is inscribed at the lower right 'Schevingue / E. Boudin 75'. The painting is in the collection of the National Gallery of Art, Washington.
Lab-printed to order on luster photo paper, in a wide 2:3 format: 8×12, 12×18, 16×24, 20×30, 24×36 and 40×60 inches. Its long, low shape suits the wall above a sofa, a sideboard or a bed.
