Salt Kettle, Bermuda by Winslow Homer
$39.00
Two white, square-roofed houses stand at the edge of a still bay, their walls reflected in long pale streaks on the blue water. A pinkish path curves along the shore at the lower right under a dark, leafy tree with red flowers, and low boats and a distant shoreline sit at the left. Above, a deep blue-gray sky holds large white and pink clouds, painted in broad, wet washes with patches of bare paper.
Winslow Homer (American, 1836–1910) painted this watercolor over graphite on wove paper in 1899. It is signed HOMER at the lower left and inscribed Salt Kettle / Dec 1899 at the lower right. It is in the collection of the National Gallery of Art, Washington.
Lab-printed to order on luster photo paper, in a wide 2:3 format: 8×12, 12×18, 16×24, 20×30, 24×36 and 40×60 inches. Its wide shape and cool blues suit the wall above a sofa, a bed or a sideboard.
