Small flowering plants are set out in staggered rows on a cream ground covered with short pale green dashes. Each plant has a fan of green leaves at its base and thin stems carrying white daisies, golden-orange flowers, red and pink blooms and closed buds. The flowers are flat shapes with fine brown outlines, and the same plants repeat across the sheet in a regular diagonal pattern.
William Morris (1834–1896), the British designer born in Walthamstow, London, who died in Hammersmith, London, designed this wallpaper in 1864. It is block-printed in distemper colors. The Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, which holds the sheet in its Drawings and Prints department, titles it Daisy.
Lab-printed to order on luster photo paper, in a 4:5 format: 8×10, 16×20 and 24×30 inches. A soft, light pattern for a kitchen, a bathroom or a child's room.
