A large bunch of white and pale pink roses spills out of a tan earthenware vase onto a green table top, with loose stems and fallen flowers lying at the lower left. The background is pale green, crossed by long diagonal strokes of lighter green and cream. The dark green leaves and the thick, curling white petals are painted with heavy, visible brushwork.
Vincent van Gogh (1853–1890), the Dutch painter, made this oil on canvas in 1890. The painting is in the collection of the National Gallery of Art, Washington, which titles it simply Roses.
Lab-printed to order on luster photo paper, in a 4:5 format: 8×10, 16×20, 24×30 and 40×50 inches. Its pale greens and whites suit a bedroom, a dining room or a bright living room.
