A Hanging Bouquet of Flowers by Abraham Mignon
$29.00
A bunch of flowers hangs from a dark blue ribbon against a near-black background. A pink rose, a white snowball-shaped cluster and a red and white striped tulip sit at the center, surrounded by yellow, orange, blue and red blooms, green leaves, a seed head and long reddish tassels hanging below. Small insects, including a moth at the upper right, rest among the flowers, and the signature appears at the lower left.
Abraham Mignon (1640–1679), the German painter, made this oil on panel, probably in 1665/1670. It is inscribed at the lower left 'AB (in ligature) Mignon f.' The painting is in the collection of the National Gallery of Art, Washington.
Lab-printed to order on luster photo paper, in a 4:5 format: 8×10, 16×20, 24×30 and 40×50 inches. A dark, rich still life for a dining room, a study or a gallery wall.
