Seven green parrots with yellow heads and red-orange faces climb, perch and spread their wings across the branches of a bare plant hung with spiky brown seed heads and dry leaves. One bird at the left center has an all-green head. Their long green and blue tail feathers point in every direction, and the plate number and captions are printed on the cream sheet above and below.
The print is credited to Robert Havell after John James Audubon: a hand-colored engraving and aquatint on Whatman wove paper, dated 1827, and Plate XXVI of The Birds of America. Havell (1793–1878) was an American artist born in England, and Audubon (1785–1851) was American. The sheet is held by the National Gallery of Art, Washington.
Lab-printed to order on luster photo paper, in a tall 2:3 format: 8×12, 12×18, 16×24, 20×30, 24×36 and 40×60 inches. A bright, busy image for a kitchen, a living room or a child's room.
