Ships off Caernarvon Castle by William Callow
$39.00
Print only, frame not included
The tall towers of Caernarvon Castle rise along the right side of a calm harbor, their stone walls pale against a cloudy lilac sky. Several sailing ships lie at anchor below the walls, a small boat crosses the still water, and a wooded bank closes the view at the left.
William Callow painted this view in 1883 in watercolor and gouache on cartridge paper, according to the Rijksmuseum, Amsterdam, which records the inscription 'No.46, Carnarvon Castle.' The sheet is shown whole, with plain paper added at the edges to reach the format.
Lab-printed to order on luster photo paper, in a wide 2:3 format: 8×12, 12×18, 16×24, 20×30, 24×36 and 40×60 inches. Soft, misty colors for a living room, an office or a coastal home.
