Shabbily Dressed Travelers by Francesco Giuseppe Casanova
$29.00
Print only, frame not included
A small group of travelers in heavy, ragged cloaks moves along a rough track: one rides a horse with a bundle at the saddle, another walks beside him with a long staff, a third carries a load on his back, and a small dog trots along with them. Everything is drawn in warm brown wash on pale paper, with the figures loosely sketched.
Francesco Giuseppe Casanova drew this scene with the brush in brown and pencil. The Rijksmuseum, Amsterdam, titles it Shabbily Dressed Travelers and dates it to 1737–1802. The sheet is shown whole, with plain paper added at the edges to reach the format.
Lab-printed to order on luster photo paper, in a 4:5 format: 8×10, 16×20, 24×30 and 40×50 inches. A warm sepia drawing for a study, a hallway or a gallery wall.
