Arcadian Landscape with Travelers by Jurriaan Andriessen
$29.00
Print only, frame not included
A sandy path curves through a forest of tall, leafy trees toward a sunlit clearing. Travelers rest along the way: a group sits at the foot of a great tree beside a small dog, other figures climb a hillside in the distance, and a stone monument rises in the hazy light beyond.
Jurriaan Andriessen painted this Arcadian landscape in oil on canvas in Amsterdam in 1771. The Rijksmuseum, Amsterdam, records that it was commissioned by Jacob van Ghesel jr. for the house at Herengracht 524, Amsterdam, around 1771; the canvas measures 325 by 263 cm.
Lab-printed to order on luster photo paper, in a 4:5 format: 8×10, 16×20, 24×30 and 40×50 inches. A large, leafy scene for a living room, a dining room or a tall wall.
