A Girl with a Flower in Her Hair by Pietro Rotari
$29.00
Print only, frame not included
A young woman turns her head toward us with a small, knowing smile. A white flower is tucked into her dark hair, a black ribbon circles her neck, and a long braid falls over her shoulder, held lightly in one hand. She wears a blue bodice over a soft white chemise, painted with gentle highlights, against a plain gray-brown background.
Pietro Rotari (Venetian, 1707–1762) painted this portrait in oil on canvas. The National Gallery of Art, Washington, titles it A Girl with a Flower in Her Hair and dates it to 1760/1762. The canvas measures 45.8 by 35.4 cm, and it is part of the Samuel H. Kress Collection.
Lab-printed to order on luster photo paper, in a 4:5 format: 8×10, 16×20, 24×30 and 40×50 inches. A tender portrait for a bedroom, a dressing room or a reading corner.
