Gathering Fruit by Mary Cassatt
$39.00
Print only, frame not included
A young woman in a blue dress stands on a ladder against a brick wall, reaching into a green vine heavy with round fruit. Below her, a woman in a pink dress holds up a small child who reaches for the fruit she hands down. The flat areas of pale color, the patterned leaves and the simple outlines give the scene a calm, decorative look.
Mary Cassatt (American, 1844–1926) made this print, Gathering Fruit, around 1893. The National Gallery of Art, Washington, describes it as a color drypoint, softground etching and aquatint on laid paper; the plate measures 42 by 29.8 cm. It is part of the Rosenwald Collection. The sheet is shown whole, with plain paper added at the edges to reach the format.
Lab-printed to order on luster photo paper, in a tall 2:3 format: 8×12, 12×18, 16×24, 20×30, 24×36 and 40×60 inches. Soft, fresh colors for a kitchen, a nursery or a sunny hallway.
