Black Crow from the Lombard Album
$29.00
Print only, frame not included
A black crow stands in profile on the ground, its heavy beak slightly open and its feathers drawn one by one in glossy black and brown, with a soft shadow beneath its feet. Below the drawing, a small label carries its old name, Picaraza, in handwriting.
This drawing of a crow comes from the Lombard album, according to the Rijksmuseum, Amsterdam, which gives it to an anonymous artist from the Low Countries and dates it to 1560–1585. It is drawn with the pen in brown and gray and the brush in colors. The sheet is shown whole, with plain paper added at the edges to reach the format.
Lab-printed to order on luster photo paper, in a 4:5 format: 8×10, 16×20, 24×30 and 40×50 inches. A striking bird study for a study, a library or a gallery wall.
